The community of North Hills in Brea, California is a serene neighborhood of one and two story homes. It is situated at the bottom of the hills that separate Los Angeles, and Orange counties. This is a great place for retirees, single people, and young families.
North Hills is located between Berry Street, and Puente Street. Builders began here in the late 1960s and finished in the mid 1980s. The smaller single story homes have 1,800 square feet, three bedrooms, and two baths. The largest models have 3,200 square feet of living space along with five bedrooms and three baths. Most homes have at least a two-car garage. The lots range from 6,000 to 14,000 square feet.
Some of the neighborhood is maintained by a Home Owners Association offering pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, and a clubhouse. The Brea Olinda Unified School District has top rated schools like Mariposa Elementary School, Brea Jr. High School, and Brea-Olinda High School. North Hills is close to many parks such as Lama Norte Park, and Esteli Park. The Hacienda Golf Club offers a William Watson designed golf course as well as facilities for weddings. The City of Brea is known as a retail center with the Brea Mall, and the Brea Downtown shopping district. You’ll find many department stores like Nordstrom’s, and Sears as well as eclectic boutiques and sidewalk cafes.
Brea is known for an extensive art program that was created in 1975. This program thrived and today is an inspiration for cities throughout the United States. Top employers here include Bank of America, Mercury Insurance Group, Beckman Coulter, and Albertsons. There have been many notable residents here such as producer James Cameron, James Hetfield of Metallica, and Jeanette Pohlen of the WNBA.
